Since the rise of digital imaging photographers and software have been appropriating IPTC (International Press Telecommunications Council) standards to store information unrelated to news gathering. The first ever Photo Metadata Conference has just concluded in Florence, Italy. Industry pundits discussed the future for photo metadata. Heralded a great success there are plans for a second event in 2008 in Malta.
